  • The last presidential election was held on 17 February 2013. In this election, incumbent Rafael CORREA Delgado was reelected with 57.2% of the vote. He defeated Guillermo LASSO, Lucio GUTIERREZ, and Mauricio RODAS.
  • The first round of the 2017 election was held on 29 February 2017. Lenin MORENO of the Allianza Pais received 39.36% of the vote. His nearest rival, Guillermo LASSO of CREO received 28%. A second round was declared because no candidate received 40% of the total vote.
