The President is directly elected by absolute majority vote in up to two rounds and may serve up to two 4-year terms, cumulatively.

In the National Assembly, 116 members are elected by plurality vote in single-seat constituencies. An additional 15 are elected by proportional representation in a single nationwide constituency, and the remaining 6 are elected by plurality vote in multi-seat constituencies representing citizens abroad. All 137 members serve 4-year terms. 
In the snap legislative election of 2023, Citizen Revolution (RC) won the largest share of seats, followed by eight other national-level parties, several provincial parties, and several independent candidates. Final official seat counts are not available from the National Electoral Council (CNE), but the National Assembly provides a nearly complete post-election seat count. Voter turnout was 80.4%.
