Acting on behalf of the Amir, Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah dissolved the National Assembly in April and called a snap election. The assembly was previously dissolved in 2022, but the outcome of the ensuing snap election was nullified by the Constitutional Court in March 2023.
