Electoral System:
- The President is elected by absolute majority vote to serve a 6-year term. If no candidate receives more than half of the (approved) votes cast in the first round, a second round is held.

- In the Parliament (Eduskunta), members are elected by open list proportional representation to serve 4-year terms: 199 members in 12 multi-member constituencies and one member in the single-member constituency of Åland.
