• The President is elected by popular vote to serve a 5-year term.
• In the National Assembly 250 members are elected by direct vote to serve 4-year terms.

  • Party: Independent but supported by Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS)

Note: Because voter turnout was less than the required 50%, the results were annulled and a re-run was scheduled for December 8.

• Last presidential election was held on December 21, 1997. The First Round of this election was held on September 29, 2002.
