Assembly: bicameral Parliament with a Senate and an 88-seat National Assembly

Description of electoral system:

The President is directly elected by majority vote in up to 2 rounds to a 5-year term, fully renewable.
The Prime Minister is appointed by the President.
In the Senate, two-thirds of members are indirectly elected by an electoral college of provincial and communal councilors, and the remaining members are appointed by the President. All senators serve 6-year terms, and the number of senators is yet to be established by law.
All 188 members of the National Assembly are directly elected by popular vote in single and multi-member constituencies to 5-year terms.
